Biodiversity in Tobago is special, because of our small size and the variety of ecosystems and species relative to our landmass.
Tobago’s biodiversity includes all the major ecosystems:

  • Coral Reefs

We are blessed with a rich species biodiversity that includes:

  • 210 species of birds
  • Five species of endangered sea turtles
  • Over 80 species of tropical reef fish
  • 21 species of non-venomous snakes
  • 16 species of lizards
  • 14 species of frogs
  • 17 species of bats
  • 44 species of corals

Many of these species are found nowhere else but in Tobago!
