Resilience programs and initiatives that Environment Tobago has been invited to participate in include:
The Marine Resilience Initiative. Which for us meant taking part in a workshop on “Building a Marine Resilience Network for Tobago” - to safeguard marine ecosystems in the event of a disaster.
The Caribbean Natural Resources Institute (CANARI) invited Environment Tobago to a regional training workshop on “Building Local Resilience to Climate Change” to enhance the knowledge and skills of civil society organizations to implement best practices and innovations for local climate action and resilience building across the Caribbean.
CANARI also hosted a 3-part webinar series on community-based and ecosystem-based disaster risk reduction, with the second part focusing on making community resilience equitable and inclusive.
The Cropper Foundation invited Environment Tobago to participate in a project to strengthen adaptation planning processes for successful implementation of adaptation actions in the agricultural and water sectors of Trinidad and Tobago.
The Fisher Folk Resilience Initiative (FFRI) is another initiative geared toward educating vulnerable fishing communities with the fiscal framework and operations needed to boost production as well as the continuity of livelihood despite the drawbacks of climate change.
