Funding Environment Tobago comes from grants, membership fees and merchandise sales and occasional fundraisers. But in order to augment those - and to widen the range of issues covered, we also accept donations from individuals, institutions and businesses.
Since inception in 1996 ET has worked with local state companies, engaging in a range of activities from beach and marsh cleanups, to planting trees, shrubs and recently vetiver grass.
Our relationships count National Petroleum, BP, BHP (now Woodside), a host of NGOs most notably at present time - CANARI with whom we are jointly implementing the EnviroRightsTT project funded by the European Commission.
Environment Tobago also provides consultancy on process flow (for development), business planning for nature-focussed /nature-dependent enterprises. We will also manage projects emanating from our consultancies where the principals think it fit.
Our interests these days are developing projects that can impact the effects of invasive species (plant and fish). We are also learning a lot on the importance of environmental justice - a core component of social equity in a rustic community like Tobago.
